Fake News Blues Band is the brainchild of Morgan Giosa, a 31 year old blues artist, abstract painter, nature photographer, and web developer with an old soul and a quirky mind. Alongside his guitar instructor (and co-writer and primary arranger of the material) Frank Varela, bass virtuoso Bob Laramie, and his brother Alex Giosa on drums/percussion and production, the sessions for what will be their debut self-titled album, came together with the spontaneity and rawness of the most revered electric blues greats in mind. In spite of the project's namesake, the overall concept of the band and the band's first release (in Morgan's perspective) isn't to poke fun at any one political figure as a source of our modern blues, but instead to point out a general distaste for modern two-party politics and the misinformation fed to the public by media sources on both sides through the medium of the blues. A blues purist at heart, Morgan's biggest creative dream is to bring back focus on a style of electric blues which is largely about melody, atmosphere, space and feeling more than volume and show, to take influence from and pay homage to blues legends like Michael Bloomfield, Albert King, B.B. King, and Jimi Hendrix while simultaneously adding his own creative quirks and unique originality to the mix, and to update the blues to be relevant to today's hostile and unforgiving sociopolitical climate.
